Contribute to the Annual Fund Today!
The Meany PTSA is inviting all families and members of the Meany community to make a contribution to the Annual Fund, which kicks off this week. Your contribution to the annual fund is a direct investment in your child, your school, and your community – our community.
Every gift given to Meany is important, valued and deeply appreciated. We welcome donations of all amounts – $5, $20, $50, $100, $500 – or more, if that’s possible for you. Your contribution matters. In order to succeed as a school community, we need our whole community to come together and work as one, investing in each other and in each of our students. Donatehere.
Thank you for considering a gift to the Annual Fund today!

International Food & Gift Marketplace - Saturday, November 17
Planning is underway for this exciting event, which will be an opportunity to celebrate our diverse community in and outside of Meany Middle School! This event is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, so please share this invitation with family and friends! The International Food & Gift Marketplace will take place on Saturday, November 17from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Meany cafeteria and hallway. It’s not too late to sign up for a table — we still have room for a few more vendors — so if you’ve been thinking about selling something, hurry and register now! There is a $50 table fee which benefits Meany Arts and Education programs. Vendors keep all profits made at their table during the event. We also have room for a limited number of non-profit community organizations who will be given a table for no fee. The vendor registration deadline is November 5. Please contact Brenda Nelson at bnpta20023@yahoo.com if you are interested in participating. We will need lots of volunteers, so please stay tuned for volunteer sign-up opportunities.

Thank you so much to all of the volunteers who came to help out during Picture Day yesterday!Tara Clark, Jen Emrich, Anna Finkenzeller, Elizabeth Geri, Fayth McCollum, Stephanie McKnight, Sarah Parsons, Tina Schwennicke, and Megan Wittenberg— you made the process go much more smoothly.

If your student forgot to turn in an order form, it’s not too late to order photos. You can order photos online with a credit card or PayPal for the next 48 hours. Here is a link:https://my.lifetouch.com/mylifetouch/#/ (enter Picture Day ID: LS118105Q0). And, if your student missed school yesterday, there will be a Picture Retake Day in a few weeks.

Save the Date! Meany Talent Show - Friday, December 7
The Meany Stage Club is open to everyone interested in any facet of theater and will produce the upcoming Talent Show and a musical production of The Lion King in the spring. This fun group has been meeting on Tuesday afternoons in October from 4:00 - 5:30 pm in Mr. Finney's room #18. Beginning in November the club will meet on both Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Attendance has grown each rehearsal (3 so far), and it's going really well, with a great variety of talented acts. Please contact Mr. Finney with any questions: kafinney1@seattleschools.org

In-School Volunteer Opportunities

There is an application and training video on the SPS website plus there will be additional training specific to our volunteers at Meany. We are especially looking for folks who can sign up for a consistent schedule. If you would like to be added to the volunteer list, please email: meanymiddleschoolpta@gmail.com
